You may not be anywhere near the office water cooler right now, but we still want to spotlight the most talked about creative from the brands that should be on your radar. Today, we’re covering EE’s support for those learning from lockdown.
Offering up support for teachers during Lockdown 3.0, EE is providing free mobile data, BT WiFi vouchers, and educational resources, as part of its ‘Lockdown Learning’ scheme, which aims to help pupils who may be struggling to access virtual classrooms.
The decision follows the Ofcom estimation that around 800,000 family homes are currently without a broadband connection.
To announce the scheme, it has released ‘A Message for Teachers’ fronted by Kevin Bacon, created by Saatchi & Saatchi. A departure from his usual upbeat tone, Bacon soberly discusses “just how crucial education is”, in honour of his mother, who was a teacher.
Since the pandemic first took hold, EE has worked to help others, by offering up unlimited data. Since it began, the Lockdown Learning support team has helped tens of thousands of families access vital educational resources across fixed and mobile networks.
Beyond learning, back in April, it provided unlimited data to NHS workers until October, available for anyone with a valid NHS email address.
